Journal Entry #2 due Tuesday, Sept. 13 1. Building on previous experiences or creating new ones: Describe your previous experience using spreadsheets. When have you used them, and for what? Be detailed in your answer. If you have no prior experience with spreadsheets, describe what the workshop was like for you. What was difficult or different about learning a new skill? 2. Gaining new skills: How far did you get in the Spreadsheet Workshop? What tasks/items were new to you? What have you learned how to do? If this was more of a review or refresher, what skills did you focus on improving? 2a. For each of the skills below, indicate your mastery on a scale of 1-10 (1 being “I have no idea what you’re even talking about” and 10 being “I can teach someone how to do this”):
3. Pushing through learning challenges: Describe something you struggled with in the workshop. What steps did you take to move forward? What did you learn from that process? 4. Evaluating your work: On the basis of the quality of work you believe you are capable of producing and reflecting on how you spent your time in class this week completing the Spreadsheet Workshop, what grade would you give yourself? Your puzzle group is going to read pages 12-25 of the Escape Room white paper: "Peeking Behind the Locked Door". You already read the introduction when we went to NM Escape Room in January. For this assignment, read your assigned section (see below) and take really good notes on a separate sheet of paper or digitally. The information on these pages, particularly the content from pages 16-25, is important for solidifying our puzzlehunt in the weeks after we come back from spring break.
