Wednesday, September 14 Pythagorean Theorem worksheet HW: On graph paper, create two 3-D drawings of a simple object (more complex than a box or book, multiple surfaces) from two different angles. Thursday, September 15 More practice with the Pythagorean Theorem using word problems HW: Problems 1-4 in the word problems document (click here). For each problem, 1) indicate the necessary information, 2) draw a diagram, and 3) solve if possible. Math journals due tomorrow! Friday, September 16 Right triangle trigonometry

Journal Entry #2 due Tuesday, Sept. 13 1. Building on previous experiences or creating new ones: Describe your previous experience using spreadsheets. When have you used them, and for what? Be detailed in your answer. If you have no prior experience with spreadsheets, describe what the workshop was like for you. What was difficult or different about learning a new skill? 2. Gaining new skills: How far did you get in the Spreadsheet Workshop? What tasks/items were new to you? What have you learned how to do? If this was more of a review or refresher, what skills did you focus on improving? 2a. For each of the skills below, indicate your mastery on a scale of 1-10 (1 being “I have no idea what you’re even talking about” and 10 being “I can teach someone how to do this”):
3. Pushing through learning challenges: Describe something you struggled with in the workshop. What steps did you take to move forward? What did you learn from that process? 4. Evaluating your work: On the basis of the quality of work you believe you are capable of producing and reflecting on how you spent your time in class this week completing the Spreadsheet Workshop, what grade would you give yourself?
