1. Read this article on the Durango La Plata Airport - Ballot Measure 1B, which was written by a former Osprey parent and board member, Melissa Youssef.
2. Answer the following questions:
3. Comment on this post with 1) the names of the people in your group and 2) your group's SIX claims (minimum) for your research topic. You should have three claims supporting your ballot measure passing and three claims opposed to your ballot measure passing. For example, if you were looking at the legalization of marijuana, a claim would NOT be, "Marijuana is a gateway drug," but rather, "If marijuana were to be legalized, it would lead to the abuse of other drugs."

We are having a Mathematical Pumpkin Carving Contest tomorrow! Your homework tonight is to make sure your group brings the following items to class tomorrow (which you should have already discussed in class today):
MONDAY
Find the link to your group's assigned TED Talk below:
TUESDAY Group work time: Within your group of three, 1) write a paragraph summary, 2) create a visual representation, and 3) prepare a 2-minute spiel that describes the essence of your assigned TED Talk. Additionally, each person in your group must craft one open-ended "essential question" that is inspired from your assigned TED Talk. Your goal, as a group, is to deliver the important information (including evidence and examples!) from your TED Talk that express the speaker's main message. Your group can either divide and conquer tasks 1-3 or collaborate on all of them. WEDNESDAY 1) Gallery walk, presentations and debrief. 2) Break students into groups, select research topics. Homework: Take this survey by 8 pm tonight. THURSDAY Assign groups and topics: Period 2

For my class specifically, your first Checkpoint is on Monday, which will include questions and word problems requiring the use of the Pythagorean Theorem and SOHCAHTOA.
